What is the reason why Korean history and culture have been distorted and replaced by the Yellow River Civilization? 

한국 역사문화는 왜 황하문명 중심으로 왜곡되어 왔나?   

아직도 많은 한국인과 세계 사람들은 한국 역사문화가 중국의 영향을 받아 이루어졌다고 믿는다. 그것은 한국사가 왜곡되고 말살되어 그 실체를 제대로 밝혀지지 않았기 때문이다. 

Many people still believe that Korean history and culture were molded by China’s influ?ence. This is because Korean history has been distorted and obliterated, and its real history was never properly revealed. 

고대 한국문명의 존재를 입증해주는 것이 중국이 전통적으로 자신들 문화권으로 여기지 않던 동북 만리장성 밖에서 발굴된 홍산문화다. 

The evidence for the existence of an Ancient Korean Civilization is the Hongshan civilization, which was discovered outside the Great Wall of China in the Northeast. Traditionally, the Chinese did not consider this region to be within their own cultural sphere. 

홍산문화는 황하문명보다 앞서 독자적으로 발전한 문명으로 지금으로부터 5,500년 이전 신석기와 청동기시대에 걸친 문명이다. 이 홍산문화를 배달국 치우천황이 중국에 진출하여 동이東夷문화를 뿌리내리고, 후에 중국 최초국가로 공인받는 상나라가 이 문화를 가지고 중국에 들어가 나라를 세운다. 중국학자들도 상나라는 동이족이 세웠다는 것을 인정한다. 

The Hongshan civilization grew independently 5,500 years ago, before the Yellow River Civilization and between the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. During this period, the Heavenly Emperor Chiu of Baedal expanded his territory to modern day China and established the Dongyi culture. Later on, Chinese scholars claimed that the Dongyi tribe founded the Shang Dynasty and it was the Shang Dynasty that founded a state in China. 

이 홍산문화 주인공이 동이족이란 사실이 분명하게 드러나자 중국은홍산문명을 중화문명의 시발점이라는 쪽으로 뒤틀어 한국 고대사까지 자기들 역사로 편입시키고 있다.

When the fact that the founder of the Hongshan civilization was the Dongyi tribe became clear, Chin transformed this fact into supposed proof that the Hongshan civilization was the beginning of the Chinese civilization in order to incorporate ancient Korean history into its own. 

사실 황하문명은 동이족 영향으로 탄생하고 성장하였다 해도 과언이 아니다. 동이족은 고대 한반도를 비롯한 내몽골로부터 만주와 하북성, 산동성, 안휘성 등 중국 동부와 북부를 지배했던 한민족의 조상이다. 중국인들이 그들 시조로 생각하는 인물들도 대부분 동이족이다. .

In fact, it is not hard to say that the Yellow River Civilization was born and developed through the influence of the Dongyi tribe. The Dongyi tribe ruled over present-day Eastern and Northern parts of China including the ancient Korean peninsula, Inner Mongolia, Manchuria, the Hebei Province, the Shandong Province, the Anhui Province, etc. The legendary figures that Chinese people revered as their ancestors came from the Dongyi tribe. 

5500년 전의 인물로 팔괘를 그려 우주와 세상 변를 설명하였던 동양철학 시조 태호복희, 농경과 의학 시조로 일컬어지는 염제신농이 동이족이라는 역사 기록이 있다. 한족 시조로 알려진 황제헌원을 비롯하여 오제로 손꼽히는 요임금, 순임금도 본래 혈통이 동이족이다

There is a historical record which shows that Taeho Bok-hui (Fu-xi), the philosopher who drew the eight trigrams (Bagua) to explain the principle of the universe and the human world, Yeomje Shennong, who is the founder of agriculture and Eastern medicine, and even the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan, who is known as the primogenitor of the Han Chinese people, belonged to the Dongyi tribe. This record also states that King Yao and King Shun, who are regarded as two of the Five Emperors in ancient China, can trace back their lineage to the Dongyi tribe. 

즉 중국의 고대사는 바로 배달 동이족이 직접 나라를 창업한 역사라 할 수 있다. 그런 면에서 동양사상과 문화의 핵심은 중국사상·중국문화가 아니라 동이족이 만든 동이사상·동이문화라는 결론에 이르게 된다.

So, China’s ancient history can be considered as the history of the Dongyi tribe since they are the ones who expanded Baedal in that area. In that respect, we can conclude that the core of Eastern ideas and cultures are not Chinese but of Dongyi ideology and culture.

흔히 동이라 하면 남만, 북적, 서융과 함께 중국 주변의 오랑캐라고 알고 있는 경우가 많다. 그러나 동이는 오랑캐란 뜻이 아니라 후대 중국인들이 자신들을 높이고 주변을 낮추기 위해 만들어 놓은 개념일 뿐이다. 

When you say “Dongyi,” most people think that they were barbarians living around China, like the Man to the south, the Di to the north, and the Rong to the west. But the people of the Dongyi tribe were not barbarians; the Chinese invented this concept of barbarianism outside the Great Wall of China to raise their position.

원래 동東이란 글자는 태양이 떠오르는 광명의 뜻을 지니고 있으며, 동방은 생명·탄생·시작을 의미한다. ‘이夷’ 자에 대해 중국학자들은 ‘큰 활을 쏘는 동쪽 사람’, ‘신을 대신하는 사람’, ‘어진 사람’, ‘신의 대리인’을 뜻한다고 했다. 또 『후한서』「동이열전」에서는 “이夷는 뿌리이니 어질고 살리기를 좋아하여”라고 하였다. 고대에는 동이문화가 중국보다 우수했다는 것을 고백하는 글들이다. 

 The original meaning of the character dong(東; east) is radiance from the rising sun, and the eastern direction signifies birth, life and beginning. Chinese scholars said that Yi (夷) means “Eastern people who wield large bows,” “someone who represents God,” “a benevolen person,” or “God’s representative.” The Book of Later Han also contains a chapter on Dongyi. It even referred to them as the “Yi” which is China’s ancient roots as written in the book, “Since Yi is the root, so it is benevolent and likes to save.” These pieces of evidence prove that the Dongyi culture was superior to China’s culture.

동이족이 세운 상나라는 중국 고대문명의 기초를 다졌는데 그 문화가 대부분 주나라를 비롯한 한족이 계승하여 황화문명으로 꽃피게 되었다. 그 후 서쪽의 주周나라가 상나라를 무너뜨리고 중국 중심세력으로 등장하였다. 그리고 자신들의 정통성을 내세우기 위해 화이개념을 만들어냈는데 춘추시대 공자에 의해 그것이 고착화 되었다.

The Shang Dynasty founded by the Dongyi tribe established the foundation of ancient Chinese culture, and most of its cultural elements were conveyed to the Zhou Dynasty, including the Chinese Han tribe, and blossomed in the Hwanghua civilization. Later, the Western Zhou Dynasty destroyed the Shang Dynasty and emerged as a central power in China. They created the concept of Hua-Yi, or the cultural distinction between Hua and Yi, to assert their legitimacy. The Yi came to be known as barbarians. However, they could become “Hua” by adopting Chinese customs and traditions. Confucius also popularized this concept in his compilation of the Spring and Autumn Annals

고대에는 한민족이 중국문명을 이끌었으나 단군조선(고조선)이 무너진 이후 중국문화가 많이 유입되었다. 그러다가 신라가 당나라를 끌어들여 삼국을 통일한 이후에 주체성을 잃고 중국문화에 의존하는 경향이 커졌다. 더욱이 조선시대에는 아예 대놓고 사대를 표방하고중국문화를 받드는 풍조가 만연했다. 결국 주체성을 잃은 조선왕조는 일본이라는 외세에 나라를 잃어버렸고, 일본제국주의의 한국역사문화 말살정책으로 한국문화는 외세 특히 중국에 의해 만들어졌다고 왜곡된 것이다

Koreans took the lead in the Northeastern civilization but after Dangun Joseon (Ancient Joseon) was destroyed, Chinese culture was introduced to Korea. After Silla unified the three kingdoms, the tendency to lose national identity and rely on the Chinese culture became stronger. Moreover, Koreans openly claimed to advocate cultural toadyism and the trend of following Chinese culture was prevalent in the later Joseon Dynasty. In the end, the Joseon Dynasty that had lost its national identity also lost its nation due to a foreign political power, Japan. Japanese imperialism further weakened Korean history and culture through its colonial rule. They distorted Korean history in such a way that implanted the idea that Korea’s roots are in China instead of the other way around.
